I have just booked my Level 1 Bookkeeping exam today so that it would give me this long weekend and the following weekend to complete it. I have just found out that I will not be able to do the exam next weekend as the website will be out of use. Will my time for completing the exam be extended or do I just lose out? If any one can advise me asap I would be very greatful.

Hi Jan,
The level 1 exam is an online exam that you are allowed 2 hours to complete. You are not able to stop half way through the exam and go back a week later, it has to be completed in one sitting.
If memory serves me correct, you get 28 days to actually sit the exam, but, as already mentioned, once you start it you have to complete it within the 2 hours.
Hope this answers your question.
Kind regards
Kerry

Hi Kerry
Thank you for replying.
You only get 14 days to take the exam. I realise that once started you have to finish it. The reason I booked it today was that if for any reason I couldn't do it this weekend I would be able to do it the weekend after. I work 40 hrs a week, Monday to Friday so I was planning to give myself the option of the 2 weekends rather than taking it after a long day at work.
Regards
Jan

Oh I see what you was trying to get at now, shame it isn't 28 days - been a while so forgot!
If you don't get chance to sit it over the weekend I would give the ICB a call on Tuesday, explain your dilema, they may be able to help due to the site being down for a whole weekend.
Good luck for when you sit the exam :)
Kerry
