Hi there,

Hoping somone can help.

A few weeks ago I took the ICB membership exam through prior learning due to holding AAT L3 certificate.

Took the exam and achieved 100% in the level 2 section and 98% in the level 3 section.

The exam was posted back with corrections, as the ICB require 100% in both sections.

Prior to this, I was asked if I could supply AAT L2 certificate. I only hold part of the L2 certificate - accounting work skills. However, I hold an A level in accounting which gave me exemptions from part of the AAT L2 qualification.

Do you think this will go against me?

How long is the deliberation process for membership into the ICB via prior learning likely to take?

If anyone could supply info here, I would be most grateful.

Thanks.

Hi Mike

I would give the ICB a call, as they tend to deal with exemptions on a case-by-case basis.   Go straight to them and see what they say, after all - they are the ones who will ultimately make the decisions.

Hopefully you can get this sorted out quickly and on to work or practice.  What are your plans once you have your results?

 Hi Andrea,

Thanks for replying.

I think I will give it until next week and give them a bell.

I'm studying AAT L4 at the moment and have one unit left to complete the qualification - the Limited Company Accounts exam. I'm taking it in a couple of weeks.

Bit of a nightmare to remember the various IAS / IFRS, to be honest.

Realy not sure after that?

Thinking of doing CIMA.

Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks.
