Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could tell me what the difference is between practice licence and  practice licence ws, and also if you get any letters for the Self-Assessment Diploma as you do with the Payroll Management Diploma.

Thanks

Rosemay

Hi Rosemary,

I don't know a definitive answer, but I would hazard a guess that ws stands for with supervision?

As for the self assessment, I don't think you get any letters - as least, I haven't seen anyone on here with them if you do, and I have seen plenty of PM dip's!

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I too have seen loads of PM.Dip, and I just keep thinking surely someone must have done the Self-Assessment Diploma. Shame it is not recognised in the same way as the Payroll Management Diploma.Frown

Best Wishes

Hi Kris,

Thanks for your comment. This may sound like a stupid question....... but what's an nada

Yes, I would have thought that potentially I will make more money on the Tax Returns than the payroll .

Thanks

Nada, as in nothing, zero, zilch.  There are no letters for self assessment.

Hi Rosemary,

On your point of SA and payroll. I was at a function last November and got talking to a very nice lady from a company that sold qualified business leads to various industries, one of which was accounting. She told me that over 95% of their accounting leads were payroll / payroll year end related and if you cound not offer payroll they were not interested.

WS? without soda?

Regards
Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your comment, I am pleased to hear that there is a demand for payroll, as I had hoped that Payroll and Self-Assessment tax returns would be my target market.  I still think its a shame that the Self Assessment is not recognised in the same was as payroll!...

Best Wishes

I don't know if this would be relivent but if you look at the fee structure there is a supliment payable for PM Dip.

Would it be too much to suggest that you get the letters you pay for......

Which sounds catty - but isn't meant to be!

The practice licence, while allowing one to practice (dur) also covers a vast amount of background help and support - so to, I expect, does the PM Dip. suppliment.

While we might not (currently) get letters for completing the SA exams, neither do we have to pay an ongoing fee for them.

Swings and roundabouts.......
