My ICB studies have taken on a more focused footing through cuts and rumours at work which
seem very real and an alternative career which once seemed fanciful may become
much more probable indeed inevitable Frown

My snail's pace studies have therefore been invigorated (about time anyway) as I passed the Level 1 in
November 2011.

I completed the L2 Computerised and submitted that on Saturday  (fingers crossed) and am taking the L2 Manual on
Friday week in Swindon.

Go me. Need a lie down now.

Good luck you guys

Hi Both,
Seems like a familiar story.. I took Level 1 in Oct last year and am only now getting round to revising for Level 2 manual ( need to book the exam date too!)
Hope your manual exam on Fri goes well Pete. Did you do many of the mocks available? I've heard they can help hugely.

thanks Wendy - yes I've done one of the mocks I purchased from ICB and got 81% which was as surprising as it was  encouraging. I need to get in some decent revision and maybe another mock before Friday 4th if I can.

I'm not studying with a training provider as such but doing my ICB study concurrently with AAT level 2 whic has helped quite a lot though there are substantial differences at L2 Manual especially with items not covered by AAT at L2 like obsolescence and COA.

I'm hopeful not overconfident Undecided

I think I definitely win the award for taking forever to get it done.  I started with my provider in Sept 2003, and eventually passed L2 Comp in Nov 2008. In my defense, I did have 2 babies, moved twice, got married and had a family death in that time (not necessarily in that order). Then found out I had to do L2 Manual for M-Day which I did in Feb 2011.  I've now been practising for just over a year, and I'm loving it.  Really wish I'd have done it a little bit faster, I'd be earning a lot more by now - but I got there in the end.  Studying payroll at the moment, but I know I can't keep putting that off as I've only got 138 days left on my trial software.

thanks Wendy

I did the mock just now and got 90% (with several silly arithmetic mistakes) so am
fairly hopeful.

Exam at 2.30pm  Undecided

Best of luck with yours

Pete

thanks for your good wishes

belatedly I passed the Manual with 88% Merit and Comp with 96% Distinction.

Am dead chuffed and starting looking at Payroll now before I get too complacent.

Hoping to start my practise late June 2012 whilst still (just about) in full time work.

*Grits teeth*
