Hi

I'm new to this forum, but been studying my ICB for past month, passed Level I 100% :D and going to take Level II in next week or so.

However, I was wondering when looking at mortgages on a well known compare site. For self employed persons, it asks whether your accountant is Certified or Chartered or neither. It just throws you out if you say netiher. With the ICB certification would you be elibigle to state you are "certified"?

ThanksLaughing

You'll be a certified bookkeeper, not a certified accountant! x

Would I be disadvantaging prospective clients in anyway by doing their accountrs rather than a certified accountant? Will they still be able to get mortgages based on the accounts I produce?

Hi Lysday

Can you please contact the ICB privately in relation to this issue as to what you are, and not allowed to do.  I do not want to dampen your spirits .

You should not have any clients at the moment unless you are covered by other qualifications .   This is against the ICB Code of practice and you also need a practice cert and must be covered under MLR Regulations.

Under no circumstances should you been completing any accounts for anyone or  Mortgage Certification.

I hope you do really well in your exams and look forward to hering more from as a student and Member in the future.

Hi

I am not doing any work for paying customers yet, this is just a "what if"  question. The only books I have been doing is my other halfs business we run together, which I have been doing for a couple of years.
